Child Support
Love Requires Support. So Does The Law.
Child Support is the right of the child. It cannot be waived. According to law, it is mandatory.
Many factors contribute to determining Child Support. To prepare, download and fill out the CIS (Case Information Statement). Also assure that your Parenting Plan is set, along with you Monthly Budgets and Division of Assets as they may impact Child Support.
The CIS should have already been filled out when you determined the Monthly Budgets, Division of Assets and Alimony terms of your divorce agreement.
Word to the Wise
These forms and guidelines require time and patience to review. You may want to block out time in your schedule, perhaps over several days, to fill them out. You may also want to review them with your divorce attorney.
Required Worksheet — Important Note!
One of the two worksheets below must be filed with your divorce papers, even if you do not use it to determine child support. If you do not, you will need to state a reason on the worksheet.
